It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Tam, loving wife and mother of four. She is survived by her dear wife Carlotta, three children, four grandchildren, and one brother.
With her keen interest in literature and learning, Tam earned a Bachelor's Degree in English, followed by a Master's Degree in Fine Arts from UNLV. Additionally, she completed a Master's Degree in Library Science from University of North Texas.
Tam deeply loved books for the world of learning, knowledge, and exploration they provide. She was an insatiable reader and true library lover which prompted her to volunteer at her local library. Tam was first hired as a Youth Services Page at the West Charleston Library. Throughout her more than 27 years with libraries, she held a variety of positions ending her career as the Branch Manager of the Rainbow Library. Tam was a brightness, an inspiration for many, and could often be found encouraging others to pursue their dreams.
After her retirement from the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District, she volunteered with Friends of Nevada Wilderness as well as the Desert National Wildlife Refuge. She was thrilled to have found a new calling as a certified NAI Interpretive Guide, allowing her to share her great passion for the outdoors and nature with other adventurers.
Tam was a very special person with a calm, kind, and beautiful spirit. She would often be humming or strumming a tune on her guitar, writing short stories and poems, connecting with nature, or adventuring in the great outdoors. An avid gardener, Tam could be found sharing her wealth of plant knowledge or touring friends around her many gardens. She was filled with grace and a quiet strength. Tam had a sharp wit and clever sense of humor. She was endlessly passionate about time spent with loved ones and was loved by many. Her spirit will be carried on in our hearts and in our memories.
