Charles "Chuck" Holzer, 1946-2025
Charles Bernard Holzer, 78, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away at home of renal failure on May 15, 2025. Chuck was a retired computer programmer and IT director. Born in Brooklyn, New York, on December 5, 1946, he was preceded in death by his parents, J.H. "Harold" Holzer and Rosalind Samuels Holzer. He graduated from Van Nuys High School, Van Nuys, California, and then attended the U.S. Air Force Academy, later earning a bachelor's degree in math and a master's degree in computer science from the University of Colorado, Boulder. His early career began as a programmer with Sperry Univac in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he met his wife of 54 years, Helen. He later worked in Atlanta, Georgia, and Paris, France, with the international airline reservations firm SITA, Société Internationale de Télécommunication Aéronautique, which took him on assignments all over the world. He last worked with SBPRA, Strategic Book Publishing. He is survived by his wife Helen Dorr Holzer; daughter Julie Ann Holzer Pazina (Joel), a Nevada State Senator; sister Patricia Sue Holzer Hagee (Ken); as well as nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the Democratic Party or other affiliated organizations.
