Brandon Swarthout Profile Photo

Brandon was born Jan 2 1977 in Grants Pass OR, 2nd son of Steve Swarthout and Suzanne Swarthout-Denning. He spent his early years in southern OR. He later moved with his family to Salem OR where he attended grade school through Sprague HS. It’s there that he made many of his life long friends. He later moved to Portland OR where he pursued his love of photography and videography. He created his video production company Dolphin World while in Portland. Things were going well until Brandon contracted a severe case of Covid that put him in the hospital. He came out of the hospital, having no kidney function and had to be on dialysis at least three days a week for the rest of his life.

Due to the long, wait in Oregon for a kidney transplant Brandon moved to Miami Florida, where he had hopes of receiving a kidney sooner.  He worked there on his “good” days creating videos for the Miami Art-deco Preservation Society.  After a couple of years and continued complications it was decided that he should move to Las Vegas to continue to pursue a kidney transplant and be closer to family and friends. Despite many days where he was too sick to leave his apartment he began pursuing the  filming of e-bike riders and producing a YouTube channel dedicated to Emoto bikes.  It was on his E bike that he was struck by a careless driver and ended up in a very severe situation in the hospital. Although he was making some progress he never recovered. His death was a result of complications with his heart and kidneys as well as the accident. Brandon had signed up some years back to be an organ donor and so although he didn’t get his new kidney, we hope that he was was able to help someone else.

Brandon had many lifelong friends that stayed in contact with him through the years. Many of them are getting together at one of his favorite Portland, Oregon hangouts to remember him in video, photos and sharing of memories on Jan 26. When reading the many posts and comments that were made on Facebook and Instagram after his death, it is very clear that he was loved by his friends and was fondly referred to as Brando or Brandsie by many if them.
Brandon was preceded in death by his father Steve Swarthout and survived by a son, Casey Klep-Matson, his mother, Suzanne Swarthout-Denning, Bend OR and brother Jason Arthur Swarthout, Pescadero MX. He is also survived by 6 aunts and uncles, 8 cousins and several nieces and nephews.
His humor and positivity in the face of so many obstacles in his life was  truly amazing. We will miss you, Brando.
